He had warned her about the book. Now it was too late. Claudia went to The Linden Library to check out a book for her book report. She checked out a Book called Vines in the Woods. She heard a voice in the air say “don’t do it. Beware the book”. She ignored it. She thought it was just the wind. That night she went home and her parents weren’t there. She just assumed that they got caught up at work. So, she went up the stair to start the book. She got in bed and it was late. Her parents were still not home. She decided to call them. No answer. She just went back to bed not worrying about things that might have happened to them. The book was open and she felt a sudden squirm go up her arm she looked over and she felt a prick in her arm. Next thing she knew she was fast asleep. 30 minutes later she woke up and saw a figure in the shade by the window. She realized that she was covered in vines. Claudia said “oh thank goodness you’re here now you can help me.”The figure stepped out the dark and said “I’m sorry I just can’t do that!!!” Before she could see who it was the figure shot her. The figure jumped out the window because it could hear her parents walking up the stairs. They walk into the room and they found her dead on the bed covered in blood. The vines weren’t there anymore. They had crawled back into the book way before the parent got into the room. They call the police and they show up at the door immediately. Inspector Rob comes in the door and says “Hello people I am Inspector Rob. I’m on the job.” The parent says “you’re our hero”. Fist he said that they had to find clues. They find a figure peeking in the window. The grab him and bring him inside. He said that he was Larry and that he was part of the FBI. Inspector Rob asked “why are you snooping around here”. Larry said “I was trying to warn her about the book. The book did something to her.” Inspector Rob puts his head down and he found a gun under the bed. He suspected that it was Larry. So, he says to Larry “your coming with me was going down town. I have to ask of you some questions.” They leave some other police men to find more clues. The parents go to sleep heartbroken from what had just happened. But, then they said that they didn’t want them to sleep there so, they went to a hotel. They couldn’t sleep it was hard. They come back the next morning to investigate more. The police found many clues that night. They found prints on the gun, FBI agents card and some bloody foot print going out the drive way. After they found the clues they went back to the police station and talked to the head policeman. The head policemen’s name was Gibbs. He was a tall and fat like he had eaten too many doughnuts. After talking to Gibbs the other men took the clues down to evidence. The two police men were not the brightest peas in the pod. Their names were Denise and Merlin. Merlin was tall and skinny and Denise was short and fat. Back in the questioning room Rob and Gibbs were still inspecting Larry. Larry knew that he was innocent. The inspectors asked Larry if he knew where his gun and card was. Larry said he had left them at the crime scene. “So you were there. You killed her.” said Rob. “Yes I was at there at the time of death but I didn’t kill her. I was only there to save her.” said Larry. “What do you me save her?” asked the inspector.” I mean I knew that the book would kill her.” “The book is magic! Vines grow from its pages. They come out and tangle you up until someone comes in and goes BAMB your dead”. The inspector says we’ll find out the truth tomorrow. That night they heard a noise coming from 3rd floor room. They walk up stairs and there is the librarian and Larry fighting over a gun. The police surround them. They yelled “ drop the weapon.” They drop the weapon and put their hands up. They turn around for a second and the librarian tries to escape. Larry grabs her and tells her and talls her that hes not taking the blame for what has happened.
